Corn Pakoda in Marathi
Time: 20 to 25 minutes
Makes: 3 servings
Ingredients:
1.5 cup corn Kernels (See important tip no 1)
1/2 cup Jowar flour
3 tbsp Besan flour
2 tsp green chili paste (or to taste)
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 cup Cilantro, finely chopped
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Method:
1) Grind corn kernels very coarsely (Do not make paste, just pulse 3-4 times in the blender).
2) Add jowar flour, green chili paste, cumin seeds, besan flour, cilantro and salt to taste. Mix well and add little water to make thick batter. The batter should be thick and sticky.
3) Heat oil in a kadai. When oil is hot, turn the heat to medium. Drop small portions of batter with a spoon. Deep fry till golden in color.
Serve hot with chutney.
Tips:
1) If the corn kernels are not tender then boil them to soften.
2) You may add other flours like rice flour, soyabean flour etc. Also it is fine to change the proportion according to your preference.
3) If the pakodas are breaking after adding in the oil, then add some flour to the batter.
